GoodWe
The teleport can connect to GoodWe Ezlogger using Modbus-TCP as described in the manual. The teleport can also connect to GoodWe inverters via Modbus RTU over RS485 as described in the following.

Information on GoodWe inverters
- On inverters in the -DT-series (ending in -DT), it is not possible to read out the setpoints after curtailment commands, since sending this information is not supported by these models
- On GoodWe inverters that are linked together the last inverter in the string has to have a 120 Ω termination resistor dip switch, which is ‘ON’. This switch can usually be found underneath the RS485 connector (so the RS485 connection has to be unscrewed).
- If only one or several inverters in the string become unavailable for readout and control, no reports will be generated because we do not construct partial reports.
- If one or several GoodWe inverters become unavailable for readout and control, curtailment is still possible for the remaining inverters in the string.
- GoodWe inverters with the same name can differ in their actual physical appearance. For example, whereas the manual may state that no LCD screen is available, it may be available, or vice versa.
- If no LCD screen is available, the SolarGo app can in most cases be used on a smartphone to connect to the inverter and log in to the menu.
Connect Ezlogger over Modbus TCP
Set Modbus-TCP parameters when Ezlogger is connected to a management system though the Modbus-TCP protocol.
- Connect the ethernet cable between the ETH1 port of the Teleport and the LAN port of the GoodWe Logger. If the LAN port of the logger is already occupied (e.g. connected to a router), navigate to our appendix for instructions on how to integrate with a router.
- Log in to the logger.
- Go to Device Maintenance > Third-Party Setting > Modbus-TCP to enter the Modbus-TCP setting page.
- Configure the parameters as follows:
- Channel Name: Enter a name for the Teleport connection (e.g.,
Teleport) - Local IP: Set the IP address of the EzLogger
- Local Port:
502 - Master IP: Enter the IP address of the Teleport
- Master Port: Leave blank or set to
502to allow the Teleport to connect - Datalogger Modbus-TCP:
0 - Time Calibration:
no
- Channel Name: Enter a name for the Teleport connection (e.g.,
Connect Inverter(s) to Modbus RTU over RS485
-
Connect the serial cable between the serial port of the Teleport and the serial port of the Goodwe inverter. In the case of multiple inverters in a series connection, the first inverter in the line needs to be connected to the Teleport. The Teleport can support up to 3 strings of inverters. Each string can be connected to main module, module A or module B
-
Note down and share with us the individual slave ids of each inverter. Make sure that all inverters on a single string have a unique slave id. A slave id can be found on the inverter’s LCD display as follows:
- Hit Enter to go to settings. Scroll down with the UP/DOWN keys until Set Modbus is selected.
- Hit Enter and select ADDR:XXX. This is the slave id.
- Hit Enter and use the UP/DOWN keys to change the slave id (address). In the case of one inverter, this number should be 1. In the case of multiple inverters, please set each inverter to a different address and let us know these addresses.
