Carlo Gavazzi

Teleport can connect to Carlo Gavazzi meters. You can connect using Modbus RTU using the RS485 serial interface. EM models have a display, and more configuration information can be found in the official documentation for EM330 model or the official documentation for EM530 models. You can connect to EM24_E1 using Modbus TCP over ethernet. More configuration information can be found in the official documentation for EM24 model

Warning

Only models with “S1” in their product number support RTU over RS485. Models with “O1” or “M1” in the model number are not compatible with the Teleport.

Warning

Only EM24_E1 model has been field tested. All other models still need to be tested.

Modbus RTU over RS485

1. Connect the serial cable between the serial port of the Teleport and the serial port of the meter.
2. Teleport is configured to use the following Modbus interface configuration. Please configure the meter to use the same settings or let us know if you use a custom configuration:
   • Device address: 1
   • Baud rate: 9600
   • Stop bits: 1
   • Parity: none

Tip

• Better performance can be achieved by using a higher baud rate. Let us know if you configure a higher baud rate on your asset.

Modbus TCP over ethernet (EM24_E1 model only)

1. Connect the ethernet cable between the ETH1 port of the Teleport and the router. Navigate to our appendix for generic instructions on how to integrate with a router. Make sure to note the IP of Teleport and the IP of the asset(s). The router should be configured to assign a fixed IP to the meter.

2. Connect the ethernet cable between the router and the meter.

3. Inform us of the chosen IP and port settings.
